In the new drama, which premieres Aug. 6, airing Monday and Tuesday nights on KBS 2TV, Yang plays an incompetent high school teacher who becomes the resident tutor for the only daughter of a gangster leader.
The drama also focuses on the problems that high school students face. Yang Dong-guen’s role in this drama is that of the timid and indolent Korean literature teacher, Jang I-san.

I was utterly shocked when the drama I was soo looking forward to (it was agonising to wait a whole wek) was replaced with some comedy show.
I almost complained to KBS World. Luckily I checked their online schedule. Turns out the hiatus was only for this week. Next week it is as normal. I think there’s some festivities going on in Korea.
The character Jang yi San is so darn funny! The way he bumbled around and mumbles. His reaction when he’s frustrated… I end up imitating him sometimes. Let’s not talk about Musin’s broody character, which comes off as sexy! Even Ryan from Paran looks better here than in ‘Hello My Lady’.

Eun-Byul’s father is portrayed as a scary, frustrated, and overly protective father. While he wants what’s best for his daughter it doesn’t help that he doesn’t know how to express his feelings and love for her! Over another fight, Eun-Byul runs away and this time she plans on staying away for more than a day. It’s at this time she first meets SAM (Mr. Jang) and Ms. Shin.
After tricking Mr. Jang into thinking she was beat by her father he ends up taking her in. She finds him oddly cute and caring…and decides to ask her father if she can enroll in his class! Looking past the fact that Mr. Jang slapped her for tricking him so badly, she probably understands that what she did was over the top and even deserving…
Meanwhile, Mr. Jang is shocked when he comes home and realizes that all his belongings are GONE! He’s then greeted by men dressed in black suits and taken to see a gangster – Eun-Byul’s father. It’s at this time that he is “offered” or probably forced to take the offer of living with Eun-Byul in the same house so that he can see to it that she safely graduates high school!
Having no choice the two make rules as to when and where they should meet every day after school. As the two part ways, Eun-Byul is tricked by some immature high school boys and as they are trying to take pictures of her intimates Moo-Shin makes his presence known and the boys run away. However, Eun-Byul sees the camera phone lying by her skirt and slaps Moo-Shin thinking that HE was the phone taking the photos!
At the same time, Mr. Jang tries to go to the principal to see how he can get himself out of the mess with Eun-Byul and her father only to realize that her father is sitting in the principal’s chair! What will Mr. Jang do now?!

Yang Dong-Geun was superb in his role in “Ruler of your own world” and not bad in “Dr Gang”. Back then, his acting was refreshing, cool and entertaining. But as they say, too much of a good thing spoils it for you. His acting in this series is quite a reprisal of his former roles and I find it not that amusing anymore. Always playing the dumb and fumbling parts. What erks me most is his obsession with his hairstyle. Why can’t he settle on something that looks good on him! In each of the above series mentioned, he changes his hairstyle more than once. Just as when you become accustomed to his ‘good looks’ he changes it to something obnoxious. I can’t agree that Park Min Young is adorable or lovely. Her facial expressions are deadpaned and cold to be exact. The only comical fellow I can think of would have to be Park Min Young’s father. You’ll laugh just looking at his face and gold rolex!

That was make him so talented…for me I watched a lot of Korean dramas/ tv series/ actors and actress but he is the one that I would say a so called Good Actor.
He really transforms himself from one role to another (depends on what character he has to act). Remember Ruler of your own world? He really made me cry in that drama. And also in Dr. Gang where he plays the role of the lazy bum Kang Dal-Go.And in this series I would say he acted well…It’s a different role for him.

On SOOMPI.com’s staff recommendation for 2007 Korean dramas, this show is listed on the top 10 list. Actually, it is listed at #7. It is a quite interesting list. I agree with most of the selection except the #1 selection.
They put “White Tower” #1. I do not like the Tower that much. I think it is too heavy to watch for me. Maybe it is because there was no good love story in it. I prefer “Surgeon Bong Dal Hee” instead. I would put their #2 “the Legend of The King and Four Gods” to #1. Then I would put “I Am Sam” to #2.
There were lot of good k-drama in 2007. I think it was the year that Park Min-young and Lee Ji-ah (the Legend’s new star) emerged as great actresses. They both look beautiful and act great.

UM. Honestly, I don’t want to be mean, but the story line was really unreasonable. Everything about this is unreasonable, and the acting wasn’t all that great. The whole thing about how he lives with her is absurd.
Like one who had already commented said, the best thing about this drama is TOP.
The main girl is pretty.
I guess it’s more of the SCRIPT that I dislike. The characters were weak, and it is just so illogical why certain events occur.
Then again, I’m still watching it b/c I hope they get better, but it seems like the predictable ending is hard to avoid…

They are “The Legend”, “Fashion 70’s”, and “The Devil”. They are equally great dramas. I will give them all 5 out of 5 stars. Since you like “HIT”, it is likely that you will like “the Devil”. Because it is an action/thriller type. And “Fashion 70’s” is a 2006 show, you might have watched it already.
By the way, is epic drama the same as historical drama? Is “Dae Jang Geum” an epic drama?

I just finished watching this subbed.it’s 4.42am here in paris.i really loved it and got pretty fast into the series.however it got pretty boring at some parts after 10 episodes.i started before yesterday afternoon.
Episode 16 is definitely one of the best drama ending episode i have watched over the past months.man i’ve been crying for the past 15minutes.i was really touchy.

On the contrary, the first 5 dramas that I have watched, (‘Sangdo’, ‘Hur Jun’, ‘Glass Slippers’, ‘Dae Jang Geum’, ‘Damo’) four of them are historical dramas. I don’t like the story line of this drama, i mean, it just doesn’t make any sense when an ugly teacher get together with beautiful and young student.
But Park Min young is very beautiful here and Moo shin (TOP) is very hot, he beats lee min ho here, love him a lot. I wish they change the cast for teacher, i hate him, the way he speak, he act, i don’t think he can be a teacher at all. He just can’t teach!!! he speak to himself when he teach in the class, no student would ever listen to him, it seems like bubbling. He can’t focusing teaching most of the time, and he never teach eun byeul to study just making her food or ironing her dress,or accompany her. I think you can not call him teacher, he has no values at all. I just finished watching this show and I gotta say, it’s actually really really really funny! Although I don’t like the storyline towards the end, I’m happy that Park Min Young ended up with the guy I wanted cause I was rooting for them. True, Yang Dong Geun isn’t the best-looking man and he’s kinda stupid in the show, awkward and overall slow and weak, the fact is, the girl loves him for who he is and looks isn’t everything. I really love this Drama korean movie is the best. A beautiful Rich young girl and her not good lOoking and timid teacher means Love has no boundary . Love is not aabout looks but mind this really talks about real Love.
